Ganesh

Description[]

Ganesh is one of the two sentient residents of Fort Door, and primarily Anesh's partner. He is a sentient version of a remote controlled camera drone, specifically a quadcopter design. His camera is operable from an application that is currently downloaded on Anesh's phone.

His design appears to be missing the commonly used safety bumpers usually equipped to drones of this type, and he appears to have extended forelimbs, and as such can use the sharp talon-like appendages at the end of his quadruped limbs, allowing to move in a form strikingly similar to that of a bat.

His "beak" is made of glass, tapering to a sharp point. This is made up of the material which used to encase the front facing camera of the drone.

Comparing his scale to the similarly designed DJI Mavic Pro 4K, we can expect a side on wingspan of approximately 10" (25.4 cm) or more, especially considering the increased dimensions of his frontal limbs.

Background[]

Ganesh was first introduced as a non-sentient camera drone, set up at Fort Door by Anesh as a way of observing the Office Space from above, as well as other miscellaneous experiments. Ganesh proved his worthiness even before his eventual sentience by saving both James and Anesh from being lost in the dungeon.

Upon returning to Fort Door a week later for a delve, Anesh and James were startled by a new flying creature, a drone remarkably similar to the one Anesh had left in the Office Space. This new creature was non-hostile, and was later christened as Ganesh.

He has been used in subsequent delves as a scout, and has proven quite useful.

Trivia[]

  • James originally didn't like the name Ganesh as he thought it was to similar to Anesh.
  • Ganesh's name is short for Ganesha, an elephant headed Hindu god known for his intelligence.
  • Ganesh is the second passive creature within the dungeon besides Rufus, as well as the first dungeon creature to have been generated by the dungeon from a non-sentient base, opening up questions to the nature of the dungeon itself.
